Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 15, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Unu Store ("Unustore," "we," "us," or "our"), our website, mobile applications and API (the "Service"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

By registering or signing up for an account on Unu Store, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or place an order.

1. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide (name, phone number, region, district and delivery address) and for keeping your password confidential. Orders and payments made from your account are treated as made by you.

2. Placing an Order and Payment

When you place an order you pay through our payment partner and the money is received and held by Unu Store until the order is completed. An order is only prepared for dispatch after your payment has been confirmed as received by us.

3. Paying in Installments

Some products can be bought in installments. Where a seller allows it, you will see the option Pay in installments at checkout and you may pay for the order in parts instead of all at once.

When you receive the goods: items bought on an installment plan are reserved for you and held by the seller. They are dispatched only after the balance reaches zero. The delivery times in the next section then start counting from the day of your final payment.

If you miss the 60-day deadline: the order is cancelled, the goods are released back to the seller, and the money you have already paid is returned to you after we deduct a 20% cancellation penalty calculated on the amount you paid. For example, if you paid TZS 100,000 and never cleared the balance, we keep TZS 20,000 and refund you TZS 80,000.

We warn you by SMS and in the app before the deadline arrives, so you have a chance to finish paying. If you contact our support team before the deadline we may agree to give you more time instead of cancelling. Refunds are sent to the mobile money number or card used for payment, normally within 14 working days of cancellation.

You may cancel an installment order yourself, free of charge, at any time before you have made your first payment. Once you have paid something, contact support or open a dispute; the same 20% cancellation penalty applies if you choose to walk away from the order.

4. Delivery Timelines

Once we have received your payment, your product is sent to you at the delivery address on your order.

You will receive your item within 1–5 days after you pay. The same window applies wherever you are in Tanzania.

Delivery times are estimates in good faith. Public holidays, weather, transport delays, wrong or incomplete addresses, and an unreachable phone number can extend them. If you chose pickup at checkout, you collect the item at the shop instead and no delivery time applies.

5. Confirming That You Received Your Order

When your product arrives, you must confirm it by opening the order in My Orders and tapping Mark as received. This tells us the delivery was successful and allows us to pay the seller and lets you leave a review.

Automatic confirmation: if you do not confirm receipt and have not opened a dispute, we will automatically mark the order as received 7 days after the purchase date. After automatic confirmation the order is treated as delivered and accepted, and the seller is paid.

So if there is a problem with your order — it never arrived, it is damaged, or it is not what you ordered — you must tell us before the 7 days pass, by opening a dispute on the order page or contacting our support.

6. Disputes, Returns and Refunds

You can open a dispute from the order page while the order is still open. Our team reviews the dispute with you and the seller and may order a replacement, a return or a refund. Refunds are returned through the same payment method you used. Items that are used, damaged by you, or perishable may not qualify for a return.

7. Cancellations

You may cancel an order while it has not yet been shipped. Once an order is on its way it can no longer be cancelled, but you may still open a dispute if something is wrong with what you receive.

8. Sellers and Shop Owners

If you register as a shop owner, you additionally agree that:

9. Prohibited Use

You may not use the Service to trade illegal, counterfeit, stolen or restricted goods, to defraud other users, to send spam, or to interfere with the security or operation of the platform.

10. Limitation of Liability

Products are sold by independent shops on our marketplace. We facilitate the order, hold the payment and coordinate delivery and disputes. To the extent permitted by Tanzanian law, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version is posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continuing to use your account or place orders after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
